Friday Link Love - Fighting the Funk Edition
Filed under: Link Love
I’ve been suffering from a major writing funk this month. Hosting the Carnival of Personal Finance right at the beginning of the month seems to have burned me out on writing for some reason. It took me more than 12 hours over two days to complete it and was up until 3 am on that Monday morning finishing it. Since then, I just haven’t felt the same.
Don’t get me wrong, I want to write - I just can’t seem to bring myself to do it. While I have suffered a drought of ideas, it goes beyond a normal writer’s block. I believe a major contributer to the problem is the fact that I have so many new things going on with the start of the new church season. My original obligation of writing a 5-minute spoken essay each week for our evening service has been replaced with helping teach music to K-2 and 3-5 graders for 3 hours on Sunday night and week-long reading in preparation for my 3 hour Disciple meeting on Monday nights. That doesn’t take into my exiting obligation to choir and its expansion into drama. My love of working in the church seems to be taking so much time, I’m loath to write in what little time I have for myself and my family.
Things seem to be looking up lately. Now that work is beginning on finishing our basement, I’ll finally have someplace to go and hide to write and enjoy some “me” time. The mere thought of having a true office of my own at home soon is starting to bring me out of my physical, mental, and emotional funk.
Well, enough of my whining… It’s been a long time since I’ve done a Link Love post, so I’m loading up with more links than ever this week to make up for the lost Love. Here’s some of the interesting articles I found this week - please visit and let these wonderful authors entertain and inform you.
