Thank you for this recipe...regardless of the cost difference, the quality and taste difference is not comparable to fast food. You are also teaching your children about healthier food options...a life long lesson!

Great recipe. I'm starting to make more lunches with meats for my 11 month old. These were easy to freeze. He goes to daycare so I struggle trying to think up homemade meals which I can easily pack in the mornings and send to school with him. I cooked them, cooled them, and froze them on a pan individually for 30 minutes, and then put them all into a plastic freezer bag in our freezer. Now in the mornings I take one or two out, cut it up and voila! Homemade chicken nuggets. All the kids at daycare are jealous! Fish sticks can also work with this recipe - just use white fish rather than the chicken.

This is JUST what I was looking for! We have a 1 year old who we'd really like to eat more meat and we love making our own meals for him (healthier alternative)! Thanks so much!

I don't know how anyone can rationalize going to McDonalds over making these for your kids. Homemade food is the BEST thing for your kid. Who knows what is in those nuggets! Making them at home, you can make them custom to your kids eating preferences and you know exactly what is in them. Who cares if they cost a little bit more? Your child will be much healthier and happier in the long run with HOME MADE FOOD.

Good idea- the less processed foods the better. We're all killing ourselves eating some of that processed garbage that is sold today.

I like how you add the different spices, too. I bet your daughter will develop a great interest in healthy tasty foods.

I stumbled.

Due to some miscalculations, the prices we listed are off. As soon as I have a chance to go to the store, I'll post amended prices. They won't get down to $0.25 a piece, but they'll be closer. If you factor the cost of regularly driving there for 8 nuggets compared to one trip to the store to pick up a 6 lb bag of chicken plus the other ingredients, I bet it's nearly break-even.

That said, these chicken nuggets aren't fried and are made of whole chicken breast, unlike the chicken "pucks" at McD's. Plus, the "nuggets" you create at home are much larger, heavier, and healthier than the nuggets from McD's.

Thanks for the input.
