Friday Link Love - Didn’t Get Fooled Edition
Filed under: Link Love
I think I may be getting a little cynical in my “old age,” but this year’s “crop” of April Fools’ pranks left me wanting. Ever since the explosion of the web and blogging, it appears people are simply trying too hard to pull off a good joke. In all, I was very disappointed by the lack of creativity and believability of the pranks.
I’m glad it’s over and we don’t have to deal with a slew of fake press releases and “funny” joke posts for another year. But even with the junk of the week, I was still able to find some great gems around the personal finance blogosphere.
- Dumb Little Man shared some insightful input on “success”.
- Get Rich Slowly hosted a guest post analyzing the effect of compound returns.
- Mighty Bargain Hunter asked, “When do you stop renting and buy?“
- beingfrugal.net posted a huge list of frugal tips for surviving a recession.
- Gather Little by Little answered the question, “When will I get my economic stimulus rebate check?“
- Frugal Dad suggested that, when it comes to our pocketbooks, we ignore the lattes and put down the cheeseburger instead.
- The Honest Dollar devised the poor man’s credit monitoring solution. (I do the same thing, actually.)
- Consumerism Commentary listed the top career choices in a recession.
- No Credit Needed reminded us that surviving is not the same as thriving.
- Wise Bread gave some options for savers suffering as the interest rates fall.
As always, PF bloggers, don’t forget to join The Snowflake Revolution!

Thanks for including my “cheeseburger” article! I like what you’ve got going here at Caveman!
