I’m a Two-Figure Blogger!

After yesterday’s news of Google’s crumbling ad revenues, I decided to take a look at my AdSense account’s revenue. I was surprised to find this greeting me:

AdSense Earnings

While that feels a bit impressive to me, I have to keep in mind that I opened this account in 2005. That means I have earned just under $12 dollars in 3 years. Wow… I guess that means I won’t be going Pro any time soon!

Honestly, with the popularity of the AdBlock extension to Firefox, I’m not surprised by the news of the ad market giving out. I never click ads on sites that I do not frequent and I only click relevant ads on sites that I prefer to support. If my behavior is anywhere near normal, it doesn’t surprise me that I’ve only generated $11.79 over the course of 3 years. Actually, I’m surprised I’ve earned that much. Of course, I wouldn’t mind earning more, but I’m also not in this for the money. Whatever I earn here will certainly become a snowflake in paying off debt.

It’s just a shame I have to earn $100 before they’ll pay me a cent. At this rate, I’ll finally get my first check in February 2033. Man, that’s a long time to wait for a snowflake!

Check out their terms of service. They EFT’d me money for something like $3.00.

Wow! Thanks, Brad!

I never set up a bank for ETF, so I thought I just had to wait until I reached $100. I’ve now set up my ING account to receive the ETF. At least now I’ll be able to gather the interest on that $12 instead of letting Google sit on it.
